Fritz Martin Hutmacher (2.11.1959-26.4.2011)

Fritz Hutmacher had an interesting life. In Interlaken the host of Hotel Lötschberg was well known as „Flying Fritz“. Together with his wife Susanne he was looking after his guests since 1994 keeping with the motto: „You will find diamonds where others expect pebbles“. Hotel Lötschberg is a home away from home, a brand for incomparable experiences and beautiful memories.

He was able to tell each single guest where to go and what to do - this thanks to his big knowledge of  the region. At breakfast he used to talk to his clients, giving advice. More than a few people were deeply impressed with his profound knowledge of their home country.

After his education Fritz started to explore the world - and he never stopped. Mountain climbing in Alaska, Chile and Argentina, mountainbike trips through the Himalaya, Mexico, Kuba, the Andes and the deserts of South America, deep-sea fishing in Hawaii, trekking in New Zealand – no challenge was too big for him. His biggest passion however were the mountains and the nature of the Bernese Oberland.

He knew the Alpes surrounding his home like the pocket of his pants. In nature he found peace, in extreme sports he found support. He was an esteemed comrade, companion and mentor.

We will keep Fritz in memory as an incomparable character.
